How much better is a Vitamix blender than a regular blender?
About this blog: I found out about extremely healthy eating and how I can try to incorporate more raw fruits, vegetables, green leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts etc… into my diet. No, I am not a vegetarian, but I want to add more healthy foods. I found out about green smoothies from a girl on youtube who uses a Vitamix to make all of her foods. After that I tried it with my mum’s Kenwood blender. It was a HUGE struggle to get it going and it is never smooth.
I watch in pure amazement at the Vitamix’s ability to blend broom sticks:
Cook soup with the friction of the blades, make peanut butter, crush ice and so much more.
The only problem is that they are expensive, the ones that we use at boost juice are near the 00 mark. The model I want is not that expensive. Other people think that it is stupid for a 16 year old to want something like this; it is the same blender used in professional chef’s restaurants.
What experience do you have with them?

About 5 years ago I got a used one for $100 and I love it. It came with a BIG recipe book and very good instructions. It’s blades can go forward then backward then forward, etc. It does so much more than a blender. The only small problem is cleaning the spigot when you have ground up dry ingredients. A piece of wire seems to work best to dig out the gunk, then flush with hot water. Hope you can find one. It will probably last you a lifetime.
